Nandanavanam is a unique project and role model for senior citizens and children (SOS Children’s Village) to live side by side in Nature friendly environment with spiritual ambience. Nandanavanam with Spiritual Retreat Home (Ananda Nilayam), meditation hall and Vishranti cottages for active and affordable Senior Citizens, where they can lead simple, spiritual and peaceful life with fellowship and service to society in their sunset years. This spiritual health resort at Tiripati, Andhra Pradesh, India is meant for senior citizens to lead a healthy Yoga Way of Life (live Simple, live Spiritual and live to Serve) with provision for day care centre get together and spiritual retreats at weekends for senior citizens. The concept of Nandanavanam with holistic living of children and senior citizens side by side can be a model for future settlements of senior citizens.
We
are keen to have children and senior citizens living side by side as
unique project of its kind. When we saw the plot near majestic Seshachalam mountains, Nagampalli, a very
impressive in rural location, we bought the land with our provident fund
money.
Fortunately
SOS Children’s Villages of India agreed for my request. We donated 7.5
acres of land (half of our land) near Yerpedu (Tirupati) to SOS, which has
established ‘Children’s’ Village for 120 children with Divine
concept of providing love to needy child along with family strengthening
programmes in the surrounding villages. In the remaining land Three acres
are transferred to SBC
Health Research Foundation for promotion of Yoga Way of
Living and conducting research on beneficial effects of Yoga, Pranayam and
Meditation in lifestyle diseases and conduct Spiritual Health Retreats for
promotion of positive health helping in positive thinking, love, devotion,
deep faith, commitment & will power.
They
say Children are Godly. They live simple, free, fearless, innocent,
cheerful and loving and are thus good models in the adjacent SOS Children’s
Village for Yoga Way of Living.
There
is also provision for Vishranthi cottages (Senior Citizen Homes) in nature friendly environment on
campus for likeminded senior citizens to live in peace and serve the needy
and become a Voice of Conscience nurtured by Nature and regular meditation.
